The layout remains unchanged
Accessful does not change the appearance or content of your documents. Only the structural layer is corrected: tags, reading order, alt text and metadata. After the correction, your PDF will look the same as before - but will be accessible to screen reader users.
Note on digitally signed documents: A digital signature always refers to the exact status of a file. After every change - including additions to the structural layer - the signature must be reapplied. It is best to correct documents before signing or re-sign the remediated PDF.

For every remediated PDF, Accessful creates an audit-ready report. It documents auditing and remediation in line with PDF/UA-2, WCAG 2.2 and EN 301 549 and provides evidence for internal and external auditors, including for requirements under the BFSG and European Accessibility Act (EAA).
The report clearly identifies anything that cannot be assessed conclusively by automated means. This gives you a documented overview of your entire PDF collection at all times.
